Season: 9 Episode: 149
Summary:
The right to life is a fundamental right that preceeds all other rights. Many argue that abortion is a Christian belief and we should keep our opinions out of it. Are they right? Scott Klusendorf is the best pro-life apologist who coaches pro-life advocates on how to engage with others and defend the unborn. Since the overturning of Roe v Wade, the heat has been turned up and Christians must step up and fight for life. If you are on the fence about abortion rights, or if you just don’t know how to have these conversations with pro-choice advocates, this is a must listen.

Question One
Let’s clear up any misunderstandings about life before Roe and life after Roe. Some are acting as though this means abortion is illegal and women’s reproductive rights are in jeopardy, we’re stripped of our freedoms and medical decisions. It’s very hyper inflated. Can you bring this to reality and what this supreme court decision actually did in regard to abortion?
Question Two
You have a quote in your book that I love and you say, “It seems many believers would rather focus on end times rather than these times. That’s a mistake. Humans who ignore questions about truth and human value may soon learn what it really means to be left behind.” Can you expand on that?
Question Three
A lot of people think the abortion debate is about women’s rights. They think it’s about pro-life vs pro-choice, or maybe even morality. You say they’re all wrong because it’s about one question that trumps all others. What question is that?
Question Four
This debate has been heated on social media since the overturning of Roe, but you saw this coming and told our class that our job didn’t end with the overturning of Roe. You were right. The rhetoric is hyped up and the heat has been turned up. I am going to bring up some things we see on social media where we know it’s wrong but maybe we scroll by because we don’t know how to respond to it. I wanted to see if you can help us with that?
What if someone says, “I don’t agree with having an abortion, in fact, I would never have one. But who am I to tell someone else what to do with her body?”
“You agree with forcing a woman to have a baby conceived in rape? How is that moral? How is that loving?”
“Women have miscarriages everyday. If God wasn’t okay with abortions, why would He allow miscarriages to happen?”
The burning research lab is one I’ve seen often and someone actually asked me about it. I was prepared because I took your class. So let me ask you how you would respond to this scenario. “Let’s say a research lab is on fire. Whom should you save – a vial full of embryos or a two year old child? You can only save one.”
How about this last one: “You’re a man. You have no right to tell a woman what to do with her body.”
Question Five
I, as you and many of our listeners have probably seen lately, many people coming out with Bible verses that supposedly condone abortion. And you get into that in the course and your book goes into more detail on it. But you also say, “We don’t need Scripture to expressly say that elective abortion is wrong before we can know it’s wrong.” Can you tell us why that is.
Question Six
Does any Christian have a good reason not to engage in the abortion debate?
Question Seven
What can women do to prepare for these conversations and become a pro-life advocate. Because there is a difference between saying you don’t agree with abortions and advocating for the unborn.
Question Eight
Where can we find and follow you to cheer you on and learn from you?
